Sarah De Carteret


Sarah is a senior recruitment, resourcing and talent specialist with over nineteen years’ experience with global professional services firms, investment banks and recruitment consultancies.

Since setting up as a freelance consultant in 2009, Sarah has worked with a number of blue chip organisations including law firms, professional services and investment banks, largely focusing on campus recruitment. Her most recent assignment has seen her covering a range of senior campus recruitment roles in-house at Credit Suisse. She has added value in these roles by streamlining and improving a variety of recruitment and selection processes, as well as reviewing and re-negotiating many vendor relationships within the marketing space to achieve significant cost and resource reductions. Since 2014, Sarah has also worked with GlaxoSmithKline, supporting their MBA recruitment activity. Here she has both advised the client on their hiring strategy as well as working directly with leading global business schools and candidates to source the best talent for the pharmaceutical sector.

As an associate for Jarred Consulting, Sarah has worked on a variety of assignments including a diversity review, creating an Employee Value Proposition, developing a Partner Assessment Centre, reviewing and re-designing an end-to-end graduate selection process, and design and delivery of Assessor training. She has also been involved in supporting several clients with telephone screening, interviewing and assessments.

Prior to this, Sarah has spent the majority of her career working with Deloitte, one of the world’s largest professional services firms, heading up the Graduate Recruitment function for the UK and Switzerland. In this role, Sarah has advised many European and global counterparts on their recruitment strategies, selection processes, training needs and brand alignment.

Working at Deloitte has provided Sarah with extensive experience of high volume recruitment working with a complex set of clients; successfully managing and motivating a large team through several periods of growth, change and restructure, and working at a strategic level with the board to enhance Deloitte’s brand image and position in external survey rankings. She was also involved in major HR transformation projects, leading the campus recruitment effort but also gaining exposure to the wider HR space.

Sarah has also designed and delivered interviewer and assessor training across all levels, and is a trained facilitator. She still regularly delivers Interviewer training courses at Deloitte.

Sarah is CIPD qualified and maintains an active interest in occupational psychology.
