Vanessa Deakin
With over 30 years’ experience within the HR arena, Vanessa is CIPD level 7 qualified. She started her career as a generalist HR professional working across a variety of sectors, including healthcare, finance and media/entertainment. Experience covered employment law, tribunals, policy writing, TUPE and the amalgamation of two telecommunication organisations. She also led in-house recruitment campaigns at all levels whilst undertaking the design and lead for assessment centres.
Vanessa became a freelance Associate over 20 years ago. During this period, she has focused on recruitment and assessment – supporting clients with both Early Careers and Experienced Hire resourcing campaigns. Activities include application screening, interviewing, coaching and assessing a variety of exercises for both digital and face to face assessment centres. Vanessa has participated in Director promotions for PwC facilitating panel interviews.
She has worked across a wide variety of clients within both the private and public sectors. Previous and current clients include PwC, BP, Civil Service, EY, Heathrow, Jaguar Land Rover, Lloyds TSB, Police Now, TfL, Centrica, Unilever and Mars.
Most recently Vanessa has supported universities to help develop their student employability skills and volunteered at local schools offering early careers advice.
