How do we take up the role of machine teacher as we integrate AI into our daily routines?

Learning and development should be accessible to everyone and organic human curiosity is invaluable.

AI is already changing the way we deliver training and development Away from a formal classroom setting, learning can be delivered:

• In a more personal way.
• So that individuals can engage in a manner that’s more natural to them and can be drawn to things that they find interesting.
• To easily plug gaps in their individual skillset.

This may ease the workload on already stressed leaders and trainers but are we really aware of what’s being learned? What are people getting out of it? Is it token learning? What about diversity and inclusion? Is everyone able to learn in a way that makes sense to them?

We control what we automate.

At this point, every employee might be looking over their shoulder checking for when AI will be coming for their job.  What will that do for their sense of purpose and long-term view? Now is the time to ask honest questions about what success looks like, what we prioritise and value, and what we want to ring-fence for humans. In other words, what are we choosing to automate?<

There’s no need to feel unnerved by what’s ahead.
