What can you do?
- Don’t underestimate the impact of your example – live healthy behaviours that build strong relationships and enable meaningful communication.
- It’s your job to make sure everyone feels recognised in a way that feels relevant to them. How well do you know the team you lead?
- Listen to all voices – those who shout the loudest may not have the solution you’re looking for.
- Accountability needs to run both ways. Avoid dissent and resentment by making sure you’re honest and transparent so that everyone is pulling in the same direction.
- Look after yourself too. Don’t underestimate the power of modelling healthy behaviours and mindset.
Remember that when someone feels in a place of emotional safety, you get the best of their logical, rational and intuitive capabilities.
